Fair and Balanced, Like Fox News (HA). First, we feel pretty certain people will eventually find they cannot afford this love affair. Some may go bankrupt hanging on to their habit, like a coke or heroin addict, but the majority will eventually understand that the automobile and oil love affair is self-destructive.

As that shift occurs, and depending on how quickly it occurs - people will either A)Freak Out; or B)flow with the changing tide of the times. The B crowd may get fed up and begin a new revolution, finding their voices in an effort to clean up the mess we've made. The B crowd may realize cool heads eventually prevail. The B crowd may find creative solutions once they put their minds to it. The B crowd will eventually demand more of our leaders.

Maybe we're displaying idealistic characteristics; maybe not. One thing is for certain - business as usual will eventually be interrupted as gas prices sprint to catch up with the value of each barrel of appreciating oil.The Cosmopolitan Charlestonianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02588403882632958128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4054084631343646280.post-2414240922756912512007-11-06T14:46:00.000-05:002007-11-06T14:46:00.000-05:00New Urbanism sounds great and appeals greatly to m...New Urbanism sounds great and appeals greatly to me, however in these parts (southern Beaufort County) the phrase is used to mask cheap apartments or otherwise jam more residential units into areas that were zoned for lighter use, which entails negative consequences for the surrounding environment, especially when you consider that most folks simply will not relinquish the love affair they have with their automobiles.Mad Hatterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01732434557307961095noreply@blogger.com
